Was commissioned into the IAF as R Krishnaswami. Since we in the South do not have surname My name was reversed from "Rajagopal Krishnaswami" to Krishnaswami Rajagopal in 1979 while I was in the National Defence Academy as a Squadron Commander. Began my career in Jet Training Wing Hakimpet but moved to Warangal owing to repairs at Hakimpet. Served in 20 Sqn. 23 Sqn and then moved to Tranport Training wing in 1963 Posted in 11 Sqn, CAC Comm Flight, NCC Kota, No 43 Sqn in 1971. Squadron Commander, No 2 Target Towing Unit at Palam, National Defence Academy, Advance HQ WAC, Air Force Admin College. Sickness made me leave the service in 1984. Now being a happy veteran, I am involved in a number of NGOs. Active member of The Armed Forces Veteran Officers Association at Chennai.
