Details :

Wing Commander Leslie Desmond Chater (2468) Administrative and Special Duties was commissioned in the Indian Air Force in June 1943. During his long service career, he has held with distinction many important appointments, including those of the Senior Personnel Staff Officer of a Command Headquarters and the Senior Administrative Officer of a Group Headquarters. At present he is commanding a Ground Training School, where his work has been outstanding in every way. By his hard work, sound planning and meticulous care he has succeeded in bringing about conspicuous improvement in all facets of administration and the standard of training. He has displayed organizing ability and leadership and by his personal example has been an inspiration to his officers and men.
