Details : | Wing Commander Pushpendra Singh (23817) was commissioned in the Indian Air Force in Administrative branch on 16 Dec 95 and was on the posted strength of Air Force Station New Delhi (AFND) from 01 Sep 09 to 23 Apr 13. During his tenure, he was the Office-in-Charge Organisation (Ceremonial) that comprises of the Ceremonial Contingent. Air Warrior Drill Team (AWDT) and the No.2 AF Band. The Officer was responsible for planning and coordinating all ceremonial activities that included induction, training and organizing displays of Ceremonial Contingent, AWDT and the AF Band that showcase the IAF. Wg Cdr P Singh, with exceptional organizing ability. led the team of 300 young Air Warriors to highest standards of professional success. At the outset. he infused great enthusiasm and high energy into the young Air Warriors and made them believe that they are the best. He personally undertook the selection of fresh Air Warriors from training institutes and prepared them with intensive training in arms drill. smart movements and physical endurance. With his immaculate planning, hard work and inspired leadership, the IAF won the Best Marching Contingent Trophy in Republic Day Parade. 2011. This win came after nearly two decades and for only second time in the history. Not resting on the historic win, Wg Cdr Pushpendra Singh ensured that the standards and morale were maintained to win the trophy again in the year 2012. In this the IAF also created history wherein it was the first ever Armed Forces contingent at the Republic Day Parade led by a lady Officer. With his foresight and initiative, persistent and resolute effort, Wg Cdr P Singh led the Ceremonial Contingent to a hat trick in 2013 by winning the Best Marching Contingent for the third time in succession. No Armed Forces Contingent has ever achieved this feat. The AWDT has significantly progressed under the guidance of the Wg Cdr P Singh. lie personally arranged the inspiring background music for the team which has resulted in immense value addition and has received wide appreciation.
