Details : | Group Captain Ajay Kumar Chaudhary (23214) was commissioned in the Indian Air Force as a pilot in flying branch and is the Commanding Officer of a MiG 29 Squadron with effect from 17 May 2014. He is a Qualified Flying Instructor with over 3350 hours of flying. He has been commended by Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Indian Air Force in 1997. He was also commended by Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command for sustained hard work and selfless devotion to duty. Group Captain AK Chaudhary is a dynamic officer who was part of the Hawk Induction team. He was instrumental in the safe and efficient induction of the HAWK Advanced jet Trainer (AJT) in Indian Air Force. The officer's immaculate planning and professional knowledge was evident in preparation of Training Syllabi, Standard Operating Procedures and designing of indigenous HAWK Video Debrief System. He was also actively involved in the preliminary planning and acceptance of Hawk Simulators. Under his Command, the Squadron has consistently achieved its operational tasks along with achieving the training of ab-intitio pilots on the fleet. During his tenure, the Squadron has undertaken numerous missions from Leh and Thoise. Under his able leadership, the unit successfully executed numerous operational tasks such as Ex LlVEWIRE and Ex SINDEX 2014 with Singapore Air Force. He also led the first ever fighter detachment that operated from Thoise Airfield. He has been instrumental in formulating procedures and initiating the process for operational exploitation MiG 29 aircraft in the l.adakh area. His leadership style, professional acumen personal involvement and empathy have motivated all air warriors under his command to strive for higher standards in the interest of the service. For his exceptional devotion to duty, Hon'ble President is pleased to award Vayu Sena Medal (Devotion to Duty) to Group Captain Ajay Kumar Chaudhary. |
