Details : Group Captain Inderjeet Singh Hanspal (21961) was commissioned in the Indian Air Force in administrative branch on 10 Jun 1992 and is presently posted as Chief Administrative Officer at Air Force Station Panagarh. He has held the important appointments of Commanding Officer of Care and Maintenance Unit, Deputy Registrar of Defence Institute of Armament Technology, Security and Works Officer of a premiere Airbase. He is a recipient of commendations by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Officer Commanding in Chief, SWAC, IAF and Chief of Integrated Defence Staff. He was posted to Panagarh Air Field Unit (PAU) when the station was required to prepare infrastructure projects for induction of a strategic Medium lift transport aircraft on a war footing. All the work services had to be planned in a time bound manner for turnkey Project. The station was required to acquire 800 acres of land, adequate electricity and get the runway resurfacing done. He embarked upon the mission with great gusto and with his effective liaison with the State Administration he managed to get NOC approvals for acquisition of 380 acres of privately owned land from the DM. He also managed to enter into Special agreements with local administration for supply of adequate electricity. The existing runway resurfacing has been progressed on a time bound manner. He was made the Task Force Commander for operationalisation of long abandoned airport at Rampurhat for exercise Thal Vayu Prahar 2013. The execution of work services required enormous support from the State Administration as the airport is not easily accessible. With his exceptional liaison skills, proactive approach and positive attitude, he managed to muster full support of the local administration and get the required manpower of Casual Labourers through Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guaranty ACT (MNREGA). This resulted in saving of huge amount of money of the Indian Air Force by synergising the obtained manpower in the execution of various works. Rampurhat has now been activated and is being used by transport aircraft on regular basis. HQ Eastern Air Command decided to start Counter Assault Training at Rampurhat. The existing buildings which were not used for a long time were in a dilapidated state. He got them renovated under his direct supervision and the abandoned airport is now bustling with regular high intensity traininq activities. His commitment and contribution towards improving the facilities for AirWarriors in creating air conditioned messes and guest rooms at PAU has greatly enhanced the morale of the personnel. As C Adm 0, he was tasked to conduct football training camp for civilians of EAC. He ensured proper, regular and rigorous training for the players which has resulted in EAC winning the trophy for two consecutive years i.e. 2012-13 and 2013-14 after a gap of 10 years. Earlier, acknowledging his superior administrative capabilities, he was nominated as the Chief coordinating officer for the presentation of President's Standard at AF station Bareilly. As expected, he performed this task in a commendable manner and his contribution was appreciated by all visiting dignitaries. For distinguished service of high order, Hon'ble president is pleased to award Vishisht Seva Medal to Group Captain Inderjeet Singh Hanspal.
