Details : | Group Captain Devendra P Hirani (21019) was commissioned in the Indian Air Force as a pilot in flying branch on 15 Dec 1990, In 23 years of distinguished service, he has held several important appointments including Flight Commander of a frontline helicopter Unit, Command Examiner, Command of a FTE, Co-ord Officer at AFRO and as a DASI inspector. A graduate of DSSC, he is a Qualified Flying Instructor with 4900 hours of accident! incident free flying, Gp Capt Hirani is an outstanding professional who has proved his mettle in various challenging assignments time and again, He has been commended by AOC-in-C for his devotion to duty twice in the past. During his Command tenure the Unit was awarded the best "Flight and Maintenance Safety" Trophy in Training Command, Gp Capt Hirani has been the Station Commander of a frontline Station in J&K since 25 Jun 2012, In this period, the officer has exhibited top leadership qualities, and with personal motivation and dedication he has ensured a very high state of operational preparedness of the Station, Serviceability state of the aircraft and other technical assets of the Station has perpetually remained high, A striking feature of the officer's achievement has been his ability to achieve results through his ingenious methods and innovative ideas, Under his close supervision, all allotted tasks have been achieved and, more often than not, surpassed with enviable efficiency, The aerospace safety record of the Station has also been noteworthy with all around attention being paid to safe operations through aircrew indoctrination, better time management and sound supervision, Administratively, he has displayed simple yet effective techniques of management to motivate the people, Empathizing with those in need and being film when the situation warranted has resulted in deriving the best from the personnel under his command at all times, He streamlined the working of various sections to improve the quality of output. His vision has made the Station an epitome of teamwork and harmony. His emphasis on a clean environment has instilled a sense of belonging in the men and voluntary involvement in upkeep of the Station environment. His initiatives towards progressing and completing numerous work services, has enhanced the morale of the Station personnel tremendously, His thrust towards long pending land acquisition cases have resulted in positive results, The Station Security, which has always remained threatened due to presence of ANEs in State of J&K, has been ensured through well thought out security measures and constant vigil.
