Details : Air Commodore NV Sreenivasa Rao (17920) Accounts was commissioned in the Accounts Branch on 14 Jun 1985 and is presently serving as the Command Accountant Officer at HQ WAC IAF He has rendered 28 years of illustrious service, leaving landmarks in various field and staff appointments held at Premier Flying Bases, Air HQ/Command HQ and on deputation to CSD, HQ as DGM (Finance & Accounts). As Director (Pay & Allowances) and AF Pay Commission Implementation Cell, his valuable contribution stand testimony to the well formulated Accounting/payment procedures, and, the settlement of various 6th CPC pay anomalies with MoD & TRIPAS. Enriched with knowledge and experience of tenure at CSD HQ, he was actively involved in resolving the Audit paras raised by the C&AG towards Defence Services, and paved way for distribution of 651.76 Cr of QD to URCs. He was also associated in the formulation of the MoD guidelines on utilization of Share of Canteen profit and QD. While undergoing HDMC, as leader of the project team, he was assigned the task of study of 'Functioning of CSD'. The project was adjudged the best amongst all and was awarded the CAS Rolling Trophy. As Command Accountant Officer, he inculcated a sense of fiscal discipline amongst the SAOs in the forecasting and utilization of Public Fund. His persuasive approach enhanced the efficacy of intemal checks obviating Financial Irregularity and audit objections. His financial prudence led to optimum utilization of budgetary allocations. His ingenious application of various ruIes regulations and policies,artirulated in the most professional manner received instant endorsement of the IFA in Centralized Mega procurement His amicable tact to prevail on the audit authorities (the PCDA AF and Dir of Audit) resolved the most of the chronic and vintage audit objections. As PMC of the WAC, Officers' Mess, he not only endeavored to maintain very high standards of Mess facilities confirming with the military traditions and culture but also motivated, nurtured subordinate staff to make the Mess a coveted destination. His innovative and motivational skills transformed functional environment of WAC URC. This was manifested by opening of an Extension Counter, efficient indent management and constant introduction of new items to provide an excellent customer satisfaction. His exceptional contribution through perseverance, dedication and instinct to excel in professional has been a source of inspiration to one and all. For distinguished service of high order, Hon'ble President ispleased to award Vishisht Seva Medal to Air Commodore NV Sreenivasa Rao .
