Details : Group Captain Sanjay Aneja (17234) Logistics was commissioned in the Indian Air Force in the Logistics Branch on 28 May 83. Since then he has held a number of important appointments such as Senior Logistics Officer (SLO), Logistics Group Commander, Joint Director Op Lgs at HQ IDS and Station Commander, AF Station, Digaru. He has always contributed towards better operational preparedness with his innovative, progressive and positive ideas. His contribution towards improvement of stores management and user satisfaction while at 13 BRD was noteworthy. He created better infrastructure and state of the art facilities in stores and transportation. His knowledge and interpretation of the rules resulted in procurement of sophisticated test equipment which subsequently resulted in international accreditation. He was responsible for smooth induction of a SU-30 squadron as SLO. The entire procurement for Ex Garuda in France was personally planned and executed to perfection by him. He was also responsible for setting up the HQ SWAC Com Fit as the 0 i/c Advance Party on its move from Jodhpur to Vadodara. Group Captain Sanjay Aneja took over command of an Air Storage Park (ASP)on 11 May 09 and since then has put the Station on the path of continuous progress. His positive energy and relentless pursuit of goals has resulted in better availability of spares and smooth induction of SU-30 MKI and Dornier fleets in EAC. With his ingenuity and dogged approach, he has ensured utilization of 654 lines of non moving inventory worth Rs. 15 lakh. His efforts in the Station resulted in remarkable improvement in the quality of life by way of provision of shopping complex, indoor badminton and squash court, tennis court and Dolby system in the auditorium. His keen interest in adventure and sports also came to the forefront as Station Commander, Digaru. Cycle expeditions were organised in 2010 and 2011 covering 600 and 2000 Kms (Digaru to Delhi) respectively. The ASP performed exceedingly well in Inter Wing sports and secured first position in three events, second position in five events and third position in three events in 2010. The Station under his leadership bagged the trophies for Best Primary School in JAF, Best Non flying Station in EAC, Rajbhasha Gold Shield and Best AFWWA venture in 2010, and was adjudged Best in Sports in EAC for the year 2011. For distinguished service of high order, Hon'ble President is pleased to award 'Vishisht Seva Medal' to Group Captain Sanjay Aneja.
