Details : | Group Captain Daniel Victor (17198) Administration was commissioned in the Indian Air Force in the Administration branch on 28 May 83. In the 28 years of distinguished service, he has held various sensitive and prestigious appointments including Command of an Airmen Selection Centre. Instructor at the prestigious National Defence Academy and Station Commander of Air Force Station Phalodi. His professionalism of high order earned him commendations by Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Vice Chief of the Air Staff and Chief of the Air Staff. In 2005, he was posted as Station Commander, Air Force Station Phalodi and assigned the task of raising this premier frontline base under South Western Air Command. With a team of 37 air warriors which included two officers he initiated the process of planning the multi-crore infrastructure required for this frontline air base. With virtually no accommodation for office or living, the officer could motivate the air warriors to work under extremely adverse weather and living conditions. His professional competence and planning abilities have contributed in a well planned infrastructure with high quality of work and timely completion of all projects which included Runway and taxiways, all Other Than Married Quarters (OTM)and living accommodation. Today Air Force Station Phalodi has come up as a full-fledged air base, plugging the gap between AF Station Nal and Jaisalmer. It is by virtue of his accumulated hands-on experience in the development of a new base that he is now a repository of works related knowledge which he continues to apply systematically in bringing up an infrastructurally outdated base of 1944 vintage at Tambaram. The amount of efforts involved in resolving the issues related to modification, alteration and demolition is enormous. He is presently closely associated with planning of works services for induction of Indigenous Jet Trainer aircraft at space Air Force Station Tambaram. Gp Capt Victor epitomises sincerity, hard work and method in his field of work. Besides setting a personal example, he has an ability to muster and groom his team mates who form a highly motivated and vibrant group with a purpose to contribute more and more to the service. Due to the officer's administrative acumen and management skills, he has brought about a qualitative improvement in the quality of life of Station personnel and was also selected as Presiding Officer by Training Command for conducting a special Court of Inquiry related to the Aero India held at Yelahanka.
