Details : | Group Captain Odunghat Eashwardas Mohan Menon (16422) Administration was commissioned on 11 Jan 1981 in the Administrative Branch of the IAF In 27 years of distinguished service, he has held various sensitive and prestigious appointments including Command of three Provost Units, Directing Staff (Law) at Air Force Administrative College, Staff Officer to Air Officer incharge Administration, Deputy Provost Marshal and Chief Administrative Officer (C Adm 0) of Air Force Station Agra. The officer was a recipient of the President's plaque for standing first in the order of merit in the 68 Ground Duty Officers' Course. The officer is a qualified photo interpreter, a graduate of Defence Services Staff College and has completed the Higher Air Command Course from College of Air Warfare. He is also a graduate in law and has been a prosecutor/defending officer in large number of Court Martial. His professionalism of high order earned him commendation by the Chief of the Air Staff in Jan 2000. As the C Adm 0 of one of the largest and the most active airbase of the IAF, he has been actively involved in planning, coordinating and controlling various administrative activities at the Station. Due to the officer's administrative acumen and management skills, he has brought about a qualitative improvement in the quality of life of station personnel. He had restructured the Military Engineering Service functioning at the base to make it pro-active and user-friendly. His personal involvement in processing the case for reclassification of electricity tariff schedules with Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory commission has resulted in recovery of Rs. 1.7 Crores and an annual saving of Rs. 50 Lakh for the Air Force Station. The Officer was instrumental in providing safe environment for efficient conduct of day and night operations from the base. His professional competence and planning abilities have contributed significantly towards immaculate planning for induction of airborne warning & control system, execution of the Hydrant Refueling System, conduct of Center for Air Power Studies Seminar, Surya Kiran Air Display and conduct of Air Warrior Symphony Orchestra. Under his guidance and leadership, the station strengthened its administrative capabilities which were appreciated by Command Air Staff Inspection team and various visiting dignitaries. His sustained hard work and selfless commitment played a key role in the station bagging the most coveted trophy "Pride of Central Air Command" for two years in succession during his tenure at the base. For his distinguished service of high order, Hon'ble President is pleased to award 'Vishisht Seva Medal' to Group Captain Odunghat Eashwardas Mohan Menon. |
