Details : | Air Commodore Sudhindra Venkatrao Mutalik (16275) Education was commissioned on 13 Dec 1980 in the Education Branch. In 27 years of service he has held with distinction many staff and instructional appointments that include Command Statistical Officer at HQ Training Command (TC), Instructor at the NDA, Assistant Director (Personnel Officers) at Air HQ, Chief Instructor in Airmen Training School, Belgaum and the Principal of a remotely located Sainik School at Goalpara, Assam. He was awarded Commendation by Vice Chief of Air Staff in the year 1999. At the prestigious NDA, he was instrumental in making Computers a weighted subject. He also undertook the task of computerization of results of the cadets for all six terms. As Assistant Director (Personnel Officers) in Air HQ, he computerized Establishment & Strength of all personnel of Indian Air Force and the sensitive task of generation of Annual Confidential Report based panels for Promotion Boards, Postings, Courses and important assignments abroad for officers of the rank of Group Captain and above. As Chief Instructor in Airmen Training School, he handled Joint Basic Phase Training of 3500 Airmen trainees per intake with limited resources in terms of men and material. This task involved leadership and management of a very high order and was accomplished to the complete satisfaction of higher authorities, both in HQ TC as well as at Air HQ. As Principal of Sainik School Goalpara which is one of the most difficult schools to administer in terms of resources from the State government and its geographic location, he was successful in getting a grant of Rs 4 crores from Assam Govt for the first time in the history of that Sainik School. For the school, he also managed to get allotted a brand-new School Bus from Indian Oil Corporation and a new Ambulance from the local Member of Parliament. Since 19 Feb 07, as the Command Non-Technical Training Officer at HQ TC, with his foresight and vision, he ensured that the concept of Just In Time Training (JITT) was implemented in letter and spirit for Non-Technical Trades. He also undertook the revision of relevant TC Air Staff Instructions to suit the changed methodology of Training. The syllabi for Ground Duty Non-Technical Officers Training and Airmen training were upgraded to conform to the changed environment of training. He also ensured that the Annual Training Grant was judiciously utilized by all Training Establishments to improve the training infrastructure. The officer's devotion to duty is unparalleled. For his distinguished service of high order and resoluteness in placing Service before self at all times, Hon'ble President is pleased to award 'Vishisht Seva Medal' to Air Commodore Sudhindra Venkatrao Mutalik. |
