Details : Air Commodore Rohit Bhalla (15591) Administration/Air Traffic Controller was commissioned on 30 Dec 78. in the Administrative/Air Traffic Controller Branch of the W. In 32 years of distinguished service, he has held various sensitive and prestigious appointments including Command of TGCA Sqn and Chief Administrative Officer of a forward base. The officer is a qualified Ground Control Approach Controller. Over a period of time, he established himself as an icon in the controllers' fraternity. Safe launch and recovery of large number of aircraft has been his forte. His high professional standards and positive attitude has been an inspiration for many controllers and aviators alike. His unmatched professional competence found him worthy to be handpicked to perform Air Traffic Control duties at Mumbai International Airport. Due to his competence, initiative and drive, he achieved the necessary facility ratings and was able to handle the dense civil traffic in an extremely short span of time. As C Adm 0 of one of the largest and most active flying bases of IAF, he was instrumental in conceptualizing, planning and bringing up a state of the art Briefing Hall, a modern Receptorium and a well-appointed Air Warriors club, all of which are considered top of the line in the entire Air Force. It was the officer's brainchild to install the first ever automated hygienic laundry system in the Air Force at no cost basis, which immensely added to the convenience of the air warriors, and won acclaim from visiting dignitaries. His perseverance, hard work and indefatigable drive combined with clear vision and planning capabilities ensured meticulous conduct of President's Fleet Review, an event held after a gap of 32 yrs. He was omnipresent, coordinating arrival of VVIPs, ensuring crowd control and closely monitoring multifarious activities, thus ensuring clock work precision in conduct of the mega event and winning accolades for the Air Force from a plethora of very senior dignitaries including the President of India. As PD Org (Adm), with his vast experience and foresight, he involved himself in optimizing office space utilization in Air HQ by correctly prioritizing and shifting offices to Paryavaran Bhawan where the offices have a modern and model presentation. In Air HQs, he pioneered the installation of an RO Plant for the welfare of personnel and is presently driving the central air conditioning project, which in addition to improving work environment and thus enhancing work efficiency, will also ensure large energy saving, a need of the hour. For distinguished service of high order, Hon'ble President is pleased to award 'Vishisht Seva Medal' to Air Commodore Rohit Bhalla.
