| Details : | Air Commodore Herikudru Babu Rajaram (14939) Administration/Air Traffic Controller was commissioned in as an Administrative Officer in the Admin/ Air Traffic Controller branch on 10 Jun 77. He has held several key appointments wherein he has made a distinct impact on the outcome operational effectiveness. The two significant operational assignments were Senior Air Traffic Controller of a forward air base and then Chief Radar Controller of a fighter base. As directing staff his operationalisation of first ever Air Traffic Control radar simulator training at Air Force Academy has been renowned. During Kargil Operations, this officer performed admirably as Chief Admin Officer (C Adm 0) of a fighter base. Air Force Records Office, he brought about an attitudinal change in the staff while dealing with personnel issues. His pragmatic and humane approach resulted in great satisfaction for a large number of needy air warriors. As the Chief Personnel Staff Officer at an Operational Command Air Cmde Rajaram has displayed exceptional blend of operational and administrative acumen. Long Defence Management Course and Advanced professional programme in Public Administration have retuned the awards of MMS and M Phi! degrees respectively to the Air Officer. He is presently commanding 23 Equipment Depot. Under his leadership the Depot is functioning mostly effectively. The depot has maintained efficient supply chain for all range of items with special emphasis on 100% kitting of ab-initio consistently. The Depot has innovatively introduced safer and economical methods of transportation of goods. He has brought in vast improvement in technical and domestic infrastructure in an exemplary manner for the others to emulate. For exceptional commitment and distinguished service of high order, Hon'ble President is pleased to award 'Vishisht Seva Medal' to Air Commodore Herikudru Babu Rajaram. | |||
