Well Sukhoi-30 is one of the my favourite aircraft so I decided to do this
my first plastic kit of the very same plane. The aircraft is the Academy 1/48th kit and is
done in Indian Air Force colours. Sukhoi-30 is the latest and strike aircraft of the
Indian Airforce. This is my second article on ARC , first being the Sukhoi-30 made of
balsa wood.
Academy kit of Sukhoi 27 UB Flanker C is the best in the market. The kit is very detailed
with fine recessed panel lines. This being my first kit I had made some mistakes and I
have really learned out of it. But the final outcome wasnt that bad.
Well It took around a month to complete this kit. The only difficulty I had was during the
paint job. I used academy enamel paints. Since I dint have a air brush and compressor I
had hand painted this kit with a flat brushes. Since I didnt also had time to buy a
air brush and compressor. But the brush painting wasnt that bad.
Well the decals supplied by the kit were Russian one. So I couldnt use the squadron
and country decals. Since I couldnt find any Indian Air force I had to get decals
printed on a printer and past it on the kit and it didnt look that bad. My kit is
SB006 of the No.24 Squadron, The Hawks based at the Lohegaon Air Force Base at
Pune , Maharashtra. This squadron has since then moved to Barielly in Uttar Pradesh.
I like to thank Murli Ranjan who helped me a lot in acquiring and completing this kit.

Editors Note: Nice Model, but the Sukhoi-30K never featured
a three-tone color scheme. It was only ever seen in a two-tone Blue-Pale Blue color
scheme. This is a very common mis-assumption by many.
