When Pakistani troops in the Jessore sector withdrew back to Dacca, they had to cross the Hardinge Bridge in the then erstwhile East Pakistan. To make sure the bridge was blocked and not used by Indian troops, the Pakistani troops disabled one of their own M-24 Chafee tanks in the middle of the span.
