Viceroy's Commissioned Officers

VCOs (Viceroy's Commissioned Officers) and Other Ranks (ORs) of the 129th Duke of Connaught's Own Baluchis in Belgium, October 1914. During colonial rule, British officers found it very difficult to communicate with Indian soldiers and thus they created the Viceroy's Commissioned Officers. After the British left India, the nomenclature was changed to Junior Commissioned Officers.
