28th Bombay NI at Suakin in 1885, armed with the snider (the breech loading conversion of the Enfield). The 28th Bombay NI, though present at Tofrek, formed one of the wings of the square not struck by the Dervish and thus saw only a little fighting in the mopping up action following the main battle.
