Its never an easy decision to show photographs of the War Dead. However we believe that it is necessary to convey to the general public the horrors of war - and also to showcase the tremendous gallantry and heroism shown by soldiers in their last battle - even though they knew it would be their last. The fallen of Rezang La are one such group . They knew that they will fall to the last man - and they did. And it was only the ice cold atomosphere of Ladakh that decided to preserve the scenes for months to come as a mute witness to one of the greatest sacrifices made by the solders of 13 Kumaon.
