Major Chewang Rinchen, MVC and Bar, SM

A portrait of then Major Chewang Rinchen, Maha Vir Chakra (MVC) and Bar, Sena Medal (SM). Major Rinchen joined the Nubra Guards during the 1947-48 Kashmir Operations as a teenager and received his first MVC. He subsequently was awarded the Sena Medal for the 1962 Indo-China War and a second award of a MVC in the 1971 Indo-Pak War. He retired as Colonel from the Indian Army.
